The Washington Buddhist Vihara Society celebrated the annual Katina ceremony (Katina Robe offering ceremony) at Washington Buddhist Vihara on Sunday, 22 October 2023. Chief Prelate of Canada Most Ven. Pannaloka Maha Thero, President of the Washington Buddhist Society Ven. Maharagama Dhammasiri Thero and the resident monks observed Vassa at the Vihara this year.
Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the USA Mahinda Samarasinghe and the members of the staff, and their families also participated in the meritorious pooja along with members of the Sri Lankan community and devotees from Vietnam, Thailand, Bangladesh and Myanmar in the Washington Metropolitan area.
