The 76th Anniversary of the Independence Day of Sri Lanka was commemorated by the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Yangon on 04 February 2024 at the Embassy premises with the participation of Sri Lankan community in Myanmar, staff of the Embassy, and their family members.
The Official Ceremony comprised with the hoisting of the National Flag, singing of the National Anthem, multi-faith religious observances, reading the messages of the Sri Lankan dignitaries and short remarks by the Ambassador.
Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Myanmar Janaka Bandara warmly welcomed the gathering and appreciated their continues support to Sri Lanka.
The event was followed by a reception and Sri Lankan cultural performances.
