Sri Lanka Embassy in Washington DC celebrated Deepavali on 9 November 2023 at the Embassy premises.
Sri Lankan Kurukkal Swamy Sivasri Sivanatha conducted the auspicious religious rituals connected with the Deepavali festival.
Ambassador Mahinda Samarasinghe in his remarks emphasized the significance of the Deepavali festival in the context of the rich cultural diversity in Sri Lanka and expressed his hope that it will be protected and nurtured in the the future.
The Embassy premises were decorated with Kolam and other festive decorations.
