Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of Thailand and Permanent Representative to UNESCAP C.A. Chaminda I Colonne together with the staff of the Mission ceremonially commenced work on 1 of January 2024 at the chancery. The event comprised of hoisting the national flag, singing the national anthem, observing two-minute silence for war heroes, reading oath of the public servants in Sinhala, English and Thai languages and delivering remarks by the Ambassador and the Permanent Representative.
While highlighting the successful achievements of the Mission in the year 2023, Ambassador Colonne thanked the Mission’s staff for their contribution. The Ambassador stated that the economy of the country is recovering and progressing with the assistance of IMF and the international community after tackling economic hardships which faced during the last few years.
She further emphasized the role of employees of the Sri Lanka Missions abroad to achieve the government’s vision under the theme of “A Prelude to the Stable Future” by achieving sustainable development goals as a prosperous State.
