The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Brazil made arrangements for the “Globo Reporter”, a renowned Brazilian TV show which has a viewership of over 30 million, to make a documentary on Sri Lanka Tourism. The documentary will be telecast on Globo TV, the largest TV network in the Latin America region.
Accordingly, a four member TV crew arrived in Sri Lanka on 03 September and will continue to film the documentary until 30 September.
Prior to the visit, discussions between the Chief Producer of Globo Reporter Francesca Terranova and the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Brazil Sumith Dassanayake were held at the Sri Lankan Embassy, in order to facilitate the visit of the media delegation.
The TV Crew is scheduled to visit Mirissa, Yala National Park, Nuwara Eliya, Ella, Kandy, Matale, Dambulla, Anuradhapura, Thanthirimale, Wilpattu National Park, Jaffna, and Mannar to make special episodes showcasing Sri Lanka’s landscapes, cultural heritage, gastronomy and history.
Premiered in 1973, The Globo Reporter TV programme is one of the most traditional and well-regarded programs in Brazil. It has received numerous awards over the years for its contribution to educational journalism. The Globo Reporter is also recognized for its comprehensive approach to various topics related to science, health, environment, culture, society, technology and mysteries etc.
The National Film Corporation of Sri Lanka and the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau provide necessary facilitation to create the documentary.
