Embassy celebrated 73rd Anniversary of Independence

 Following the health guidelines, the Embassy celebrated 73rd anniversary of independence at the Chancery premises with the presence of limited number of Sri Lankans and Turkish media friends. Religious observances were conducted by Ven. Katuwana Sidaththa Thero, Chief incumbent of Shakyamuni Viharaya, Rome, Prijjwal Raj, Imam Ahmet Aktas, Reverent father Seraphin Ngoie Kazadi.

This was the second consecutive year that the Embassy arranged religious observances during the Independence Day celebrations after establishment of the Embassy in Ankara.

Ambassador, during his remarks stated the robust activities Mission has made to enhance bilateral trade, investment, tourism, culture, people to people contact in Turkey, Georgia and Ukraine. Further the Ambassador highlighted the visionary leadership and activities that President Gotabaya Rajapaksa launched through the “Vistas of prosperity & splendor”. Further the Ambassador thanked governments of Turkey, Ukraine and Georgia for continuous support for enhancing bilateral relations.

A parallel virtual live stream was arranged for Sri Lankan’s living in Turkey, Ukraine, Georgia and also for Turkish media personnel and bureaucrats.
