The Embassy and Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka in Vienna commenced its work for the year 2023 with a simple ceremony held at the Embassy premises.
The programme entailed hoisting the National Flag, singing of National Anthem, observance of two-minute silence to pay respect to war heroes and others who sacrificed their lives on behalf of the Motherland and also the reading of the Oath of Public Servants.
The religious observances were performed by Most Ven. Dr. Wijayarajapura Seelawansa Thero, the founder and the Chief Incumbent of the Dhamma-Zentrum Nyanaponika in Austria followed by Heel Danaya. The Most Venerable Dr. Seelawansa Thero invoked blessings on the people of Sri Lanka and the staff of the Embassy.
