The Embassy and Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka in Vienna organized a Dhamma sermon in commemoration of Poson Poya with the participation of Sri Lankan community at the Embassy premises on 2 June 2023.
The religious observance and the sermon were conducted by the Most Ven. Dr. Wijayarajapura Seelawamsa Thero, the Chief Incumbent of the Dhamma - Zentrum Nyanaponika in Austria.
Fulfilling a timely need of Sri Lankan expatriates living in Austria and accredited countries a library was also declared open at the Embassy premises.
The library features books under various categories/classifications generously donated by the National Library, the Department of Government Information and several leading publishers including Sarasavi Bookshop, Samayawardhena Bookshop, well wishers residing in Austria and Sri Lanka. The first library card was issued to the Most Ven. Dr. Wijayarajapura Seelawamsa Thero.
Large number of the Sri Lankan community attended the Poson celebrations.
