Delegation of National Defence College (NDC) of Sri Lanka visits Indonesia

A Delegation from the National Defence College (NDC) of Sri Lanka successfully completed a visit to Indonesia as part of their International Collaborative Study Package (ICSP) from 01 May 2024 to 11 May 2024.

 The delegation consisted of 20 officers from the Sri Lanka Army, Navy, Air Force, Police and eight foreign officers who were following the Staff Course at the NDC. The delegation was headed by Major General DGS Senarath Yapa, the Commandant of the National Defence College.

During the visit, the delegation paid a courtesy call on Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Indonesia and ASEAN Admiral Prof. Jayanath Colombage at the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Jakarta on 02 May 2024. The Ambassador briefed the delegation about history, economy, political situation in Indonesia and the relations between two countries which was beneficial to the students to study the host country in depth.

The Delegation visited the Tri Forces Headquarters (TNI), ASEAN Secretariat, Indonesian Defence University and National Resilience Institute (LEMHANNAS) in Jakarta and also the Indonesian Aerospace Industry (PT DI), Indonesian Defence Industry (PT PINDADO), and Asia Africa Conference Hall in Bandung during the study tour.

The visit helped to further strengthen the defence relations between the two countries especially in the field of professional military education. The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Jakarta coordinated the entire visit.
