Sri Lanka’s Ambassador-designate to the Philippines Shobini Gunasekera paid a courtesy call on the President of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) Ma. Alegria Limjoco on 01 October 2019.
The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss the visit of the Sri Lanka-Philippine Business Council delegation to Manila on 21 October 2019 and arrange a networking session for business appointments between the two countries.
During the meeting, Ambassador-designate also discussed the need to re-activate the Philippine-Sri Lanka Business Council in order to maximize accruing benefits for trade and investment cooperation.
Associated with the discussions were Chairman of PCCI George T. Barcelon, Honorary Chairman and Treasurer of PCCI Dr. Sergio R. Ortiz-Luis Jr., Chairman, SME Development Committee of PCCI) Apolinar Aure, Director, Chamber & Industry Association Development Renato Simbulan, Assistant Secretary General of PCCI Edwin Glindro and Minister of the Embassy Thanuja Dissanayake.
