Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Karachi hosts Vibrant Cultural Performances in Pakistan

The Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Karachi, in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Tourism Convention Bureau, recently organized a series of captivating cultural performances as part of ongoing efforts to promote Sri Lanka tourism in Pakistan.

Three events were held at Port Grand, the Art Council of Pakistan in Karachi and the Alhamra Lahore Art Council.

The internationally renowned Sri Lankan dance troupe Chandana Wickramasinghe and the Dancers Guild of Sri Lanka, along with performances by Sonal Prabhashita and Mahesha Sandamali, and music by the Snaayu band, showcased the rich cultural heritage of Sri Lanka to Pakistani audiences.

The performances, ranging from traditional folk dances to contemporary fusion, mesmerized the audiences and aimed to foster cultural ties between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

The High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in Islamabad Admiral Ravindra C. Wijegunaratne, Consul General of Sri Lanka in Karachi Jagath Abeywarna, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Tourism Convention Bureau Thisum Jayasuriya, Chairman of Port Grand Shahid Firoz, Chairman of the Art Council of Pakistan, Karachi Mohammad Ahmed Shah, Executive Director of Alhamra Lahore Art Council Sarah Rashid, and Manager of Sri Lankan Airlines Saman Rathnayaka attended at the cultural events.

The event received extensive publicity from the Pakistani media.
