Consul General of Sri Lanka Thushara Rodrigo was invited as the Guest of Honour of Sri Lanka cultural program organized by “Studio S”, the youth wing of the Sri Lankan Canadian community in Latvian Canadian Cultural Centre in Toronto on 28 October 2023. The members of the youth wing staged their performance inspiring the gathering.
Addressing the gathering, the Consul General appreciated the efforts of the youth wing for using their artistic talents to bridge the different cultures and communities. He commended the creative approach of the youth in adding the essence of the Sri Lankan cultural heritage and traditions into the cultural diversity of Canada.
Congratulating the youth for their successful and dedicated efforts and using their leisure time for meaningful engagements, the Consul General requested them to accommodate some multicultural artistic elements in their future concerts representing all Sri Lankan ethnicities on the stage and support the reconciliation efforts of Sri Lanka through their unique artistic skills.
