The Staff of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Tokyo formally commenced work for the year 2024 with an official ceremony held in the Embassy premises.

At the invitation of the Embassy, senior officials of the local municipal area and representatives of Sri Lankan community associations in Japan participated in the event.

Yatawara Pagngnarama Thero of the Sawara Lankaji Temple conducted a special Buddhist religious observance.

Addressing the gathering Ambassador Rodney Perera expressed the solidarity and support of the government and the people of Sri Lanka to Japan during the challenging times in the country. The Ambassador took the opportunity to acknowledge and appreciate Japan’s consistent support for Sri Lanka.

The Ambassador urged the Embassy staff to continue to dedicate themselves in fulfilling the objectives of the Government of Sri Lanka to further enhance bilateral relations with Japan, and provide an efficient consular service to the Sri Lankan community.
