The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Beijing hosted a Ceylon Tea Promotion event on 28 December, 2018. It was the first of a series of Sri Lankan tea brand promotions organized by the Embassy. Depur International Trading Company Limited, distributor of Stassen tea brand was featured in this event.
The gathering comprised of Chinese Government officials, diplomats Ceylon tea agents in China, and Media agents in Beijing. The tea tasting session highlighted tastes from seven tea growing regions in Sri Lanka and Uva Organic teas.
Third Secretary- Tea Promotion Sampath Perera made a presentation on the uniqueness and health benefits of Ceylon Tea. Sri Lankan savories and sweets were served with tea.
