Ceylon Tea Boutique Attracts a Large Number of ITB Visitors

Ceylon Tea being among the most recognized tea brands in the world, were amongst the most popular items for the German visitors who visited the Sri Lanka Pavilion at ITB 2017.

Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau organized an exclusive Tea Promotional Boutique at the ITB with three Sri Lankan tea hostesses. Over 4000 visitors visited the Ceylon Tea Boutique during the five day promotional campaign.

Hon. John Amaratunga, Minister of Tourism Development of Sri Lanka and P.M. Withana, the Chairman of Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau joined other German invitees including Hon. Jürgen Klimke and Hon. Michael Donth at the ceremonious opening of the Ceylon Tea Boutique on 8th March 2017.

Visitors for the tea boutique were introduced into several varieties of Ceylon tea and were given the opportunity to touch and smell different tea selections. The visitors were also given the choice to enjoy a cup of Ceylon tea of their choice.

The upcoming 150th Anniversary of Ceylon tea was highlighted at the Press Conference which was held on 09th March 2017 and all the Journalists, who participated at the Press Conference, were given a complimentary pack of Ceylon Tea.

Going alone with the Government’s vision for joint promotional efforts the Sri Lanka Mission in Germany has taken the leadership in coordinating Sri Lanka tea promotion at the ITB 2017.
