The staff of the Sri Lanka Embassy in Bahrain ceremonially commenced work for the year 2020, with a special programme held at the Embassy premises on Wednesday 01 January 2020.
The programme commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag of Sri Lanka at the Chancery building by the Ambassador of Sri Lanka in the Kingdom of Bahrain Pradeepa Saram, followed by the singing of the National Anthem of Sri Lanka by the Embassy staff. Thereafter, two minutes’ silence was observed to commemorate war heroes and all those who sacrificed their lives on behalf of the Motherland. The Oath of Public Servants was read by the staff thereafter.
The Ambassador in her brief remarks thanked the staff for the outstanding cooperation extended to her and to the previous Heads of Mission during the past year, with reference to trade and tourism promotional activities carried out by the Embassy in 2019.
The Ambassador also highlighted the necessity of ensuring the prompt, honest and unwavering contribution of all members of the staff, to achieve a fourfold outcome: a productive citizenry, a happy family, a disciplined society and a prosperous nation, which has been presented in relation to the policy statement “Vistas of prosperity and splendour” by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
