The Honourable Ranil Wickremesinghe, Prime Minister of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka will pay an Official Visit to Japan from Sunday, 4^th October to Wednesday, 7^th October, 2015. 

During his stay in Japan, the Prime Minister and his spouse will be received in audience by Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress of Japan. Prime Minister Wickremesinghe will hold a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

Actg. Foreign Minister Dr. Harsha de Silva during a telephone conversation last night (28^th September) with the Actg. Foreign Minister of Maldives Mr. Mohamed Hussain Shareef expressed Sri Lanka’s concern on the explosion which took place on 28^th September, 2015 on the boat carrying the President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom and First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim.   He conveyed wishes for the speedy recovery of the First Lady of Maldives and for the good health and well-being of the President of Maldives.

Following reports on the stampede last week in Mina/Mecca in Saudi Arabia two Sri Lankan hajj pilgrims have been reported missing since 24th of September 2015. 

The Consular Affairs Division of the Ministry informed the Sri Lanka Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and Sri Lankan Consulate General in Jeddah to locate the whereabouts of the missing persons.
