Recently Sri Lanka and Kenya concluded a Bilateral Air Services Agreement in Nairobi.  While Sri Lanka High Commissioner for Kenya J.P.B. Dissanayake signed on behalf of Sri Lanka, Amos Kimunya, Minister of Transport of Kenya (former Trade Minister) signed the Agreement for Kenya.  This is also an outcome of talks between former Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka, and President Mwai Kibaki in May 2009.

The 63rd Anniversary of Independence of Sri Lanka was commemorated at the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Paris with special religious observances at the Embassy premises today (4th February 2011).

A “Pradeepanjalee” concert by Pradeep Ratnayake and his troupe held at the prestigious Musikverein concert hall in Vienna, Austria on 2nd February 2011 received standing ovation from a well attended audience of music enthusiasts.

 

Sri Lanka’s National Day, marking the 63rd anniversary of the country’s independence from foreign colonial domination was celebrated at a simple but impressive ceremony at the Sri Lanka Embassy in Brasilia, the capital of Brazil on 04th February 2011.

 

The Sri Lanka High Commission in London celebrated the 63rd National Day on 04 February 2011  morning at the High Commission premises with the participation of Sri Lankans living in the UK representing Buddhist, Hindu, Christian and Muslim faiths.
