External Affairs Minister Prof. G.L.Peiris, addressing three separate groups of British Parliamentarians urged them to visit Sri Lanka and form their own judgments of post-war developments.

“Go wherever you want in the country and see for yourself. We believe that transparency and visibility is the right approach to dispel the falsehoods that are told about the country by those who wish to spread ill-will”, Minister Peiris told them.

Sri Lanka and Poland seek to promote Security and Defence Cooperation

Secretary, Ministry of Defense and Urban Development Gotabhaya Rajapaksa visited Poland at the invitation of Minister of National Defense Tomasz Siemoniak to attend the 20th International Defense Industry Exhibition (MPSO) held in Kielce from 3rd - 6th September 2012. The exhibition was inaugurated by President of Poland Boruslaw Komorowski on 3rd of September amidst a large gathering of invitees related to defence industry worldwide. Secretary Defence had a prominent presence among the dignitaries attending the exhibition.

Chief of the Sri Lankan Coast Guard visits India

Rear Admiral Ruwan Dias, the Director General Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG), visited India from 26-30 Aug 2012 at the invitation of Vice Admiral M.P. Muralidharan, Director General of the Indian Coast Guard (ICG). During the visit Rear Admiral Dias held meetings with Director General of the India Coast Guard as well as senior officials of the Ministry of Defence in India, in manifestation of close bilateral cooperation between the security establishments of India and Sri Lanka.
