Ambassador Thassim calls on the new Minister of Labour and Social Development of Saudi Arabia

Sri Lanka's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Azmi Thassim called on the newly appointed Minister of Labour and Social Development Eng. Ahmed bin Sulaiman bin Abdulaziz al- Rajihi on 03 October 2018 at the Ministry of Labour and Social Development in Riyadh. Minister Abdulaziz al- Rajihi was appointed the Minister of Labour and Social Development in June 2018.

At a warm and cordial meeting, the two sides discussed mutually important topics regarding Sri Lankan migrant workers in Sri Lanka. They included labour recruitment processes, welfare facilities for migrant workers, matters related to labour courts and the forthcoming 3rd Joint Technical Committee meeting as per Article No 6 of the Agreement on Domestic Worker Recruitment signed between the two countries.  Ambassador Thassim invited Minister Abdulaziz al- Rajihi to visit Sri Lanka at a mutually convenient time to strengthen the bilateral cooperation, which he gladly accepted.

Minister Ahmed bin Suleiman bin Abdul Aziz Al-Rajhi was accompanied by Under-Secretary for International Affairs Dr. Abdulaziz Sulaiman Al Amr and Director of International Affairs Yasir Hamood Al Otaibi of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development.

Ambassador Azmi Thassim was accompanied by Minister Conunsellor Madhuka Wickramarachchi  Actg. Head of the Labour Secion K.K. Duminda and Protocol Officer  A.L.M Jabeer.
