On completion of tenure as the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Nepal, Ambassador Swarna Perera paid farewell calls on high level dignitaries of the Government of Nepal prior to her departure from Kathmandu.
The Ambassador paid a farewell call on the President of Nepal Bidya Devi Bhandari on 26 September 2019. During the meeting, President Bhandari thanked Ambassador Perera for the cooperation she extended to strengthen bilateral relations in diverse fields.
During the meetings with Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli, Minister of Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali and Leader of Opposition of Nepal Sher Bahadur Deuba the dignitaries reviewed with satisfaction the bilateral exchanges that have taken place over the past few years. Foreign Minister Gyawali commended her contribution towards further consolidating the bilateral ties between the two countries during her tenure in Nepal.
The Ambassador was also felicitated by Nepal- Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce, Anandakuti Viharaya, Dhammakeerthi Viharaya and number of other institutions in Kathmandu.
