Sri Lanka's Ambassador to Jordan J.A.D.S. Priyangika Wijegunasekara was warmly welcomed by the Mayor of Amman Municipality Yousef Al Shawarbeh, and other officials of the council during her first visit to the Municipality on 08 February 2024.
During the meeting, the Ambassador conveyed her best wishes to the Mayor and provided a brief overview of the Embassy’s activities as well as insights into the municipalities in Sri Lanka. The Mayor emphasized the amicable relations between the two countries appreciating the invaluable support of the Sri Lankan community in advancing various sectors of Jordan.
Both parties discussed the ties that unite the two countries and people and agreed to explore greater cooperation in various areas including tourism, culture, environment, etc.
Manager of the International Relations and Support Department Njoud Salah Abdeljawad and Communication Director of the Council Ibrahim Hashem also attended the meeting.
