Minister of Health of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Fahd bin Abdurrahman Al-Jalajel received Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Omar Lebbe Ameer Ajwad at the office of the Minister in Riyadh, on 03 November 2024.
Minister Fahd warmly welcomed Ambassador Ameer Ajwad to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and outlined Saudi Arabia’s initiatives in advancing the country’s healthcare sector under the Saudi Vision 2030, while suggesting potential mutual collaboration between the two countries.
Ambassador Ameer Ajwad briefed the Minister on Sri Lanka’s success stories in the healthcare sector and proposed exchange of experiences between the two countries. The Ambassador also took the opportunity to extend his appreciation to the Ministry of Health of Saudi Arabia for providing employment opportunities for Sri Lankan healthcare professionals including nurses. He also expressed willingness to offer further support to the Saudi healthcare sector by providing human resources.
Health Minister Fahd is also a member of the Saudi Council of Economic and Development Affairs and the Chairman of the Transformation Program Committee in healthcare. He chairs numerous boards including the Saudi Health Council, the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, and the General Authority for Food and Drug.
The Ambassador was accompanied by Mohamed Anas, Minister/Head of Chancery of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Riyadh.
