Ambassador-designate of Sri Lanka to Lebanon Kapila Jayaweera who is also concurrently accredited to the Syrian Arab Republic presented credentials to Minister of Foreign Affairs of Syria Dr. Faisal Al-Mokdad on 12 February 2024, as per the established protocol in Syria.
At the bilateral meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Al-Mokdad admired the long standing bilateral relationship between Sri Lanka and Syria and re-assured to closely work with Sri Lanka.
In response, Ambassador Jayaweera stated that the government of Sri Lanka also work closely with Syria for the betterment of the two countries.
