On 12 December 2019 Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia Dr. Dayan Jayatilleka paid a farewell call on Director of the Foreign Policy Planning Department (FPPD) of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Oleg Stepanov.
Senior Advisor of the Foreign Policy Planning Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, and Russia’s top negotiator in Syria Maria Khodynskaya-Golenishcheva, PhD in History, who previously headed the Press Service of Russia’s Permanent Mission to the UN in New York City, also participated at the meeting.
During the meeting Ambassador Jayatilleka and Oleg Stepanov had a substantive discussion on a number of topics of current foreign policy analysis and planning and shared their views on the Greater Eurasia concept and on pressing issues of terrorism.
The Director of the Department commended the contributions of Ambassador Jayatilleka published on the website of the Russian International Affairs Council and in the prestigious journal ‘Russia in Global Affairs’.
