On February 06, 2019 Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation H.E. Dr. Dayan Jayatilleka paid a courtesy call on the Ambassador of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, H.E. Dr. S.M. Saiful Hoque. The Ambassador, a freedom fighter in his youth, holds a PhD in History in International Relations and Foreign Policy and a postdoctoral Fellowship, both from the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Science. He was a student of the famed academician Evgeni Primakov, later Foreign Minister and Prime-Minister.
The two Heads of Mission had substantive discussion on South Asian and world affairs.
At the end of the bilateral meeting the Ambassador of Bangladesh invited Ambassador Jayatilleka to proceed to the Embassy’s mini-museum dedicated to the life and leadership of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Father of the Nation (“Bangabandhu”).
