Ambassador designate Shanika Dissanayake visited the MAS Kreeda Al Safi Apparel Factory in Sahab on 13 November 2019. MAS Kreeda Al Safi is a part of the MAS Holdings Conglomerate and is a Sri Lankan and Jordanian joint venture established in 2015 in Jordan.
The visit by the Ambassador designate was undertaken to meet with the Management of MAS Kreeda as well as to look into the welfare of the approx. 700 Sri Lankans who are employed in the apparel factory.
The Ambassador designate appreciated the welfare measures put in place by the management of MAS Kreeda to make their employees work in a safe, stable and secure atmosphere contributing towards a greater work ethos and a higher level of employee satisfaction. According to the Management, the highly skilled Sri Lankan workforce has contributed towards a greater production output.
Ambassador designate Dissanayake was accompanied by Employment and Welfare Officer of the Labour Section Chandima Jayaweera of the Embassy.
