The Ambassador of Sri Lanka for Germany, Karunatilaka Amunugama held a meeting with Hans Joachim Fuchtel, State Secretary at the Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany in Berlin recently.
The Ambassador thanked the Federal Ministry for the assistance extended to Sri Lanka for the country’s socio-economic development and requested continued assistance of the Federal Ministry in this respect.
Ambassador Amunugama further stated that Sri Lanka has a huge gap between demand and supply of skilled and professional labour and requested the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany to assist Sri Lanka upgrading the skills level of manpower as Germany has a remarkable system of technical education.
He extended an invitation to the Federal Secretary to visit Sri Lanka in order to witness at first hand, the progress taking place in the country, which was accepted by the latter.
