Following the assumption of duties by the new Consul General Dilani Weerakoon on 11 January 2023, an almsgiving was held at the Consulate General of Milan on 21 January 2023.
The event was organized to invoke the blessings for the newly dawned year 2023 as well as commemorating the first death anniversary of former Consul General, Visharada Late Neela Wickremasinghe who passed away while holding office as the Consul General of Sri Lanka in Milan.
Ten Buddhist monks representing the three Buddhist temples located within Milan municipality participated at the almsgiving ceremony which was followed by a pirith chanting.
