During their visit, the group will explore sacred and historical sites in Anuradhapura, Dambulla, Kandy, Sigiriya and Kelaniya. They will also experience 'Whale Watching'  on board the 'Princess of Lanka' vessel in Trincomalee, operated by the Sri Lanka Navy, alongside other tourist activities such as wildlife safari and networking event with local community in Habarana.

The group is also scheduled to meet Atamasthanadhipathi Most Venerable Pallegama Hemarathana Thero after conducting a special pooja at the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi and Ruwanweli Maha Seya. This is the fourth time that the Embassy has organized a visit of such a large group of visitors from Indonesia to Sri Lanka.

Founder and CEO of MIWA Textile Design Company Mira Hoeng who is part of the group is scheduled to donate items to two (2) schools in Trincomalee under her philanthropic project 'Blue Lotus’.

This tour reflects the fruitful initiatives undertaken by the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Jakarta in promoting Sri Lanka as a significant Buddhist pilgrimage destination with sacred Buddhist sites and shrines embedded with relics of Lord Buddha, and a well-nurtured Buddhist culture among the Buddhist community in Indonesia.
