The staff of the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Milan, Italy conducted a Dana Pinkama for the Vesak, on 11th May 2019 at the Consulate General premises, commemorating birth, enlightenment and pari-nibbana of Lord Buddha.
On invitation, Maha Sangha, including Chief Incumbents from almost all the Buddhist Temples which comes under the jurisdiction of the Consulate General in Milan, Italy, including the International Buddhist Centre, Lankarama Viharaya, Dharmaniketanaya, Mahamevnawa Cultural Centre, Verona Buddhist Centre, Brescia Buddhist Viharaya, Padova Sammasati Viharaya, and Como Buddhist Centre participated in the Dana.
The occasion was also utilized to invoke blessings for the early recovery of the Sri Lankans and foreigners who got injured in the Easter Sunday suicide terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka and also to invoke merits on behalf of all those who died from the same attacks. Further, blessings were invoked for the return of peace, prosperity and normalcy to the mother country and people.
