Sri Lankan tourism and premium Ceylon Tea brands promoted at the International Bazaar – 2024 in Philippines

 

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in the Philippines together with the local distributors of Ceylon Tea premium brands: Dilmah, Basilur, and George Steuarts, participated in the International Bazaar 2024 held on 03 November 2024 at the World Trade Center, Pasay City, Philippines.

The Sri Lankan stalls were designed to showcase tourism and unique cultural attributes of the country along with world renowned Sri Lankan products such as Ceylon tea, spices, wellness products, porcelains and handicrafts. They were inaugurated by Secretary (Minister) of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines, Enrique A. Manalo, who attended the event as the chief guest; Ms. Manalo; Mayor of Pasay City, Emi Calixto-Rubiano, attending as the guest of honor of the event. Guests who visited the Sri Lankan stalls were served with freshly brewed Ceylon tea.

Nearly 40 countries were represented at the Bazar with over 50 local Philippine companies exhibiting crafts and other products.

The International Bazaar, themed “Shop Global Help Local” for this year, is an annual event organized by the International Bazaar Foundation, Inc. (IBF) in cooperation with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) of the Philippines, Diplomatic and Consular Corps of the Philippines, and Spouses of the Heads of Mission (SHOM). It is also a fund-raising event to support the livelihood and scholarship projects of the IBF and SHOM for beneficiaries all over the Philippines.
