The Sri Lanka High Commission in Kuala Lumpur recently hosted a spiritual and cultural extravaganza to celebrate Vesak. The celebration included a Buddha Relics Exhibition at the Dhammacakka Buddhist Vihara in Malacca, where over 20 revered Buddhist monks from Mihintale, Sri Lanka, displayed sacred relics of Lord Buddha. The event was attended by devotees, dignitaries, and government representatives, emphasizing the significance of unity and harmony in the pursuit of enlightenment.
Additionally, the Sri Lanka High Commission organized a delightful Hi-Tea Vesak Reception at Brickfield Maha Vihara in collaboration with six Buddhist associations in Malaysia. The Deputy Minister of National Unity, Saraswathy Kandasami, graced the event as the Chief Guest and over 20 diplomatic Missions from Buddhist countries and friendly nations participated, celebrating the universal message of peace, compassion, and unity embodied by Lord Buddha.
Furthermore, the High Commission organized a Sago Dansela at the Brickfields Buddhist Maha Vihara in conjunction with Vesak Full Moon Poya Day. The event saw the participation of a large number of devotees and community members.
