Sri Lanka High Commission in Islamabad Officially Commences Work for the Year 2024

The staff of the High Commission of Sri Lanka in Pakistan ceremonially commenced the work for the year 2024 with a brief programme on 01 January 2024 at the High Commission premises.

The programme commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in Pakistan, Admiral Ravindra C Wijegunaratne (Retd.) followed by the singing of the National Anthem.  Afterwards, all the staff observed a two-minutes of silence to commemorate t the war heroes and those who sacrificed their lives on behalf of the motherland.Thereafter, the staff of the High Commission took the “Oath of Public Servants” pledging to provide an efficient and effective service to the public with firm determination and utmost dedication.

Addressing the staff of the Mission, the High Commissioner Admiral Ravindra C Wijegunaratne (Retd.) extended best wishes for the new year and highlighted the importance of the public officials discharging their duties with efficiency and effectively.

The official ceremony concluded with serving milk rice and variety of Sri Lankan traditional foods.
