A blood donation programme was organized by the Sri Lankan community in Oman under the patronage of Sri Lanka's Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, Ameer Ajwad to coincide with the Vesak festival.
The blood donation programme was conducted at the premises of the Sri Lanka Embassy in Muscat on 20 May 2022 in association with the Central Blood Bank of the Ministry of Health of the Sultanate of Oman, Sri Sambutthatwa Jayanthi Viharaya Committee and the Sri Lanka Community Social Club in Oman. Over 100 members of the Sri Lankan community in Oman volunteered and donated their blood to the Central Blood Bank of the Sultanate of Oman.
Speaking on the occasion, Sri Lanka's Ambassador Ameer Ajwad commended the Sri Lankan community in Oman for their invaluable humanitarian gesture of expressing solidarity with the people of the host country. Ambassador Ajwad also extended his sincere appreciation to the medical staff of the Central Blood Bank of the Sultanate for their kind and dedicated services throughout the programme.
A free medical camp was also organized by Sri Lankan medical doctors serving in the Sultanate for the benefit of the participants during the programme.

ඕමාන සුල්තාන් රාජ්‍යයේ ශ්‍රී ලංකා තානාපති අමීර් අජ්වාඩ් මැතිතුමාගේ ප්‍රධානත්වය යටතේ ඕමානයේ වෙසෙන ශ්‍රී ලාංකික ප්‍රජාව විසින් වෙසක් උත්සවයට සමගාමීව රුධිර පරිත්‍යාග කිරීමේ වැඩසටහනක් සංවිධානය කරන ලදී.
ඕමාන සුල්තාන් රාජ්‍යයේ සෞඛ්‍ය අමාත්‍යාංශයේ මධ්‍යම රුධිර බැංකුව, ශ්‍රී සම්බුද්ධත්ව ජයන්ති විහාරයේ කමිටුව සහ ඕමානයේ ශ්‍රී ලංකා ප්‍රජා සමාජය සමඟ එක්ව සංවිධානය කරන ලද මෙම රුධිර පරිත්‍යාග කිරීමේ වැඩසටහන 2022 මැයි 20 වැනි දින මස්කට් හි පිහිටි ශ්‍රී ලංකා තානාපති කාර්යාල පරිශ්‍රයේ දී පවත්වන ලදී. ඕමානයේ වෙසෙන ශ්‍රී ලාංකික ප්‍රජාවේ සාමාජිකයන් 100 දෙනෙකුට අධික පිරිසක් ස්වේච්ඡාවෙන් ඉදිරිපත් වී ඕමාන සුල්තාන් රාජ්‍යයේ මධ්‍යම රුධිර බැංකුව වෙත සිය රුධිරය පරිත්‍යාග කළහ.
මෙම අවස්ථාවේ දී සිය අදහස් පළ කළ ශ්‍රී ලංකා තානාපති අමීර් අජ්වාඩ් මැතිතුමා ඕමානයේ වෙසෙන ශ්‍රී ලාංකික ප්‍රජාව සිය සත්කාරක රටේ ජනතාව සමඟ සහයෝගයෙන් එක්ව විදහා දැක්වූ මෙම මානුෂීය ක්‍රියාව පැසසුවේ ය. සුල්තාන් රාජ්‍යයේ මධ්‍යම රුධිර බැංකුවේ වෛද්‍ය කාර්ය මණ්ඩලය මෙම වැඩසටහන මුළුල්ලේ විදහා දැක්වූ කාරුණික සහ කැපවූ සේවය සම්බන්ධයෙන් තානාපති අජ්වාඩ් මැතිතුමා සිය අවංක කෘතඥතාව පුද කළේ ය.
මෙම වැඩසටහන අතරතුර, සුල්තාන් රාජ්‍යයේ සේවය කරන ශ්‍රී ලාංකික වෛද්‍යවරු පිරිසක් සහභාගී වූ පිරිස වෙනුවෙන් කිසිදු අයකිරීමකින් තොර වූ වෛද්‍ය කඳවුරක් සංවිධානය කළහ.
