The annual Katina Ceremony of the Bodhiraja Buddhist Society, Kuantan was held from 26-27 October 2019 under the patronage of High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Malaysia Air Chief Marshal KapilaVeedhiya Bandara Jayampathy and with the participation of a large number of Sri Lankan and other Buddhist devotees residing in the Malaysia.

The Religious ceremony, led by the Most Ven. Dr.Omalpe Sobhita Maha Thero,the Chief Incumbent of Most Ven. GuruwalaSuseelaThero of Bodhiraja Buddhist Society and hundred Buddhist monks of Sri Lanka. The ceremony was conducted by President of the Bodhiraja Buddhist Society, Kuantan, Cheok Teck Guan.

The Katina Ceremony commenced on 26 October evening with overnight chanting of Pirithconducted by Most Ven.Dr.OmalpeSobhitaMahaThero. The Sri Lankan Buddhist monks who arrived for the occasion from all parts of Sri Lanka.

On the following day, mid-day alms giving ceremony was held for 100 Buddhist monks and the Katina robe was offered to the Maha Sangha at Bodhiraja Buddhist Society, Kuantan with the participation of a large number of Buddhist devotees.
