Ambassador Shani Calyaneratne Karunaratne paid a courtesy call on Minister of Justice of the Republic of Lebanon, HE Judge Albert Aziz Serhan on 04 October 2019 at the Justice Ministry premises.
The Minister commenced the discussion referring to the Sri Lankan migrant workers and, emphasised the significant contribution of them. In response Ambassador explained the present status of domestic employees to Lebanon.
The Ambassador and Minister Serhan discussed the progress of three proposed agreements to be signed between the two countries; Transfer of Sentenced Persons, Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters, and the Extradition Treaty.
Minister Serhan assured the Ambassador that he will render all the assistance in his authority to strengthen the cordial and longstanding relations between Sri Lanka and Lebanon.
Second Secretary of the Mission Chathuri Perera accompanied the Ambassador to the meeting.
