The High Commission of Sri Lanka in Nairobi celebrated Christmas with the participation of the community on 1 December 2018 at “Sri Lanka House”.
Children from Mogra Home for the Children joined in singing Christmas carols with the community choir group. Generous donations made by the Sri Lankan community were handed over to the representatives of Mogra Children’s home which houses over 300 children of all ages. In addition, several Sri Lankan business firms and individuals committed funds to assist a medical center established at the Mogra Children’s Home in Nairobi.
High Commissioner Sunil de Silva in his address to the community reiterated the need to celebrate each other’s religious festivities and recognize the strength of working together as a community.
