The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Berlin and the Consulate General in Frankfurt organized a preparatory summit for the CHOGM Business Forum from 05th to 11th September 2013 in Frankfurt. Fifty leading companies with global recognition participated in the summit. Hon. Neomal Perera, Deputy Minister of External Affairs, and Mr. Ajith Nivard Cabraal, Governor of the Central Bank, attended the Summit.
The purpose of the preparatory summit was to persuade leading business leaders in Germany to participate at the Commonwealth Business Forum, which is one of the most prestigious international business events conducted every two years on the margins of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) to be held from 12-14 November 2013 in Colombo.
The Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka for Baden-Württemberg, Mr. Norbert Quack, arranged an event to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and Germany in Stuttgart. Political dignitaries and members of the business community from the German state of Baden-Württemberg were invited for this event. The Hon. Deputy Minister of External Affairs and the Governor of Central Bank participated in this event.
