Religious Observance to invoke blessings on President Mahinda Rajapaksa on his 67th Birth Day

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Bangkok with the participation of the Sri Lanka Association in Thailand organized religious observances at the Yannawa Temple, to bless His Excellency the President Mahinda Rajapaksa for good health and long life on his 67^th birth anniversary.

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Bangkok with the participation of the Sri Lanka Association in Thailand organized religious observances at the Yannawa Temple, to bless His Excellency the President Mahinda Rajapaksa for good health and long life on his 67^th birth anniversary.

The event commenced early in the morning on 18^th November 2012 with a Bodhi Pooja followed by other religious observances. Sri Lankan community and a number of Thai devotees participated at these events from morning to noon with much enthusiasm.

Alms for 67 monks were offered to coincide with the 67^th birth day of President Rajapaksa and pirith was chanted to invoke blessings.

Among other electronic media Thai Channel 7, a prominent TV channel gave a wide coverage to the event.
