GL briefs Slovenian President on Sri Lankan issues

On the sidelines of the Bled Strategic Forum, at which he was a panelist, Professor G. L. Peiris, Minister of External Affairs, called on BorutPahor, President of the Republic of Slovenia.

He briefed the President of Slovenia on current developments in Sri Lanka. Among the other matters discussed at this meeting were Sri Lanka’s leadership role as Chair-in-Office of the Commonwealth and Chair of the Group of 15. The President of Slovenia also showed interest in Sri Lanka’s role in the Non-Aligned Movement, of which the country was a Founding Member, and in the present initiatives of SAARC.

Prof. Peiris, during his official visit to Slovenia, held bilateral discussions with Karl Erjavec, Slovenia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Milan Brglez, President(Speaker) of the National Assembly of Slovenia, Tabor Navaracsics, Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, IvicaDacic, First Vice President and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Nikola Poposki, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Macedonia, and SamoHribarMilic, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia.
