A networking dinner with a team from the People’s Bank was organised by the Sri Lanka Embassy in Doha on 7 May 2025, with the participation of the Qatar-Sri Lanka Business Council and the Sri Lanka Business Council.
The event aimed to provide new connectivity and opportunities for the visiting People’s Bank team to increase foreign remittances from Qatar to Sri Lanka.
Welcoming the People’s Bank team —comprising the Senior Manager Overseas Customer Service Thilini Perera, Manager Remittance Dayani Kulathunga, Deputy Manager Danuska Nalin and Deputy Manager S. Senthipan, Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Qatar Sithara Khan, highlighted the various opportunities available to promote foreign remittances through Sri Lankan expatriate workers in Qatar. Representatives of the Qatar-Sri Lanka Business Council and the Sri Lanka Business Council also provided insights on strategies to boost foreign remittance inflows.
This networking event was one of several initiatives coordinated by the Sri Lanka Embassy in Doha with the Qatar-Sri Lanka Business Council and the Sri Lanka Business Council.
