Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ameer Ajwad, met with the CEO of Al Bait Guests Osama Abdulathif, to discuss arrangements for 3,500 Sri Lankan pilgrims participating in the upcoming Hajj season. The discussion was held at the Al Bait Guests headquarters in Mecca on 11 May 2025, with the participation of the Al Bait Hajj operation team. The Ambassador was accompanied by the Third Secretary Shibly, and the coordinator of Hajj arrangements at the Sri Lanka Consulate General in Jeddah Ashraf.
Al Bait Guests, formerly known as the Establishment of South Asia, is one of the largest Hajj service providers, with over 40 years of experience, serving nearly one third of all pilgrims annually.
The first group of Sri Lankan Hajj pilgrims arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on 11 May 2025, marking the beginning of the pilgrimage season for Sri Lanka.
