The Deputy High Commissioner of Sri Lanka, Dr. Ganesanathan Geathiswaran, along with his spouse, had the honour of attending the swearing-in ceremony of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Shri C. Joseph Vijay, held on 10 May 2026, at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai.
The event was graced by several distinguished dignitaries, including Shri Rahul Gandhi, the Governor Shri Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, senior political leaders, members of the newly sworn-in Council of Ministers, members of the diplomatic corps, and eminent personalities from various fields.
On behalf of the people of Sri Lanka, warm felicitations are extended to the Chief Minister on his assumption of office. Best wishes are conveyed for a successful and productive tenure, as well as for the continued progress and prosperity of the State of Tamil Nadu.
The Deputy High Commission also expresses its keen interest in further strengthening cooperation and enhancing people-to-people ties between Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu, within the broader framework of the longstanding and friendly relations between Sri Lanka and India.
