
Oceanpick Private Limited, South Asia’s first oceanic fish farm and a leader in sustainable aquaculture, was awarded as one of the Top Five finalists in the UNIDO ONE World Sustainability Awards under the category of Sustainable Supply Chains. Founder and the CEO of the company Irfan Thassim received this prestigious award at the World Industry Summit held during the 21st Session of the General Conference of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on 24 November 2025.
Chosen from over 2,000 submissions across 173 Member States, Oceanpick was recognized for its commitment to sustainable practices and its contribution to building responsible global food systems.
Sri Lanka’s envoy to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Head of Delegation to the 21st Session of the UNIDO General Conference, Ambassador Ameer Ajwad extended his warm congratulations to the founder and CEO of Oceanpick, Irfan Thasim on the company’s outstanding global achievement, which has brought pride to Sri Lanka. Irfan Thasim stated that the award demonstrates Sri Lanka’s commitment to sustainable industry and innovation and emphasized that sustainability has always been central to the company’s mission of ensuring responsible farming and ocean stewardship.
Oceanpick is an open-sea fish farming which focuses on environmentally responsible aquaculture, producing traceable, low-carbon seafood while supporting community livelihoods and protecting marine ecosystems.
