Sri Lanka shines at ULT Travel Expo 2025 in Luxembourg

Sri Lanka gained significant attention as a premier travel destination at the ULT Travel Expo held on 29 and 30 March 2025 at the Parc Hotel Alvisse in Luxembourg. The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Brussels, together with the two leading Sri Lankan travel companies, Jetwing Travels (Pvt) Ltd and Walkers Tours Limited participated in the travel expo.

At present, Luxembourg has the world's second-highest nominal GDP per capita. As far as outbound tourism is concerned, Luxembourgish tourists exhibit the EU region's highest average expenditure per trip, strong spending power, and a keen interest in outbound travel.

The first edition of the ULT Travel Expo was organized by the Union Luxembourgeoise du Tourisme (ULT), which served as a premier platform for travel enthusiasts to explore some of the world’s most breathtaking destinations. The expo attracted a large number of visitors many of whom were actively planning their holidays for 2025 and 2026.

The Sri Lankan booths at the expo exuded a unique tourism identity through images, banners, videos, brochures, and maps featuring the tourism sector of the country. By presenting itself as a must-visit long-haul destination, Sri Lanka made its appeal to the Luxembourg market, showcasing its rich culture, natural beauty, wildlife, and diverse travel experiences.

Additionally, attendees were served with a cup of authentic Ceylon tea, and a handy-pack of Ceylon cinnamon was presented as a giveaway, offering them a delightful taste of Sri Lanka’s world-renowned hospitality.

By successfully participating in the ULT travel expo, Sri Lanka captured the interest of travelers seeking diverse and immersive experiences, not only from Luxembourg but also from neighboring countries like Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, and France. By engaging directly with a dynamic audience of travelers and industry professionals, Sri Lanka reinforced its status as a top-tier travel destination in the European market.
