The Embassy of Sri Lanka in the Netherlands together with the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau of Sri Lanka, facilitated a tourism familiarization tour for a group of 4 Dutch media and social media personnel from 1 – 7 November 2025. The group will be visiting the many tourist attractions that Sri Lanka has to offer as well as sites specifically attractive to the Dutch tourists.
Dutch travelers show a strong interest in nature, wildlife, culture and sustainable tourism experiences, which align well with Sri Lanka’s tourism offerings. There is also a growing demand among Dutch visitors for long-stay holidays and wellness tourism.
In 2024, Sri Lanka welcomed 50,116 tourist arrivals from the Netherlands, while 55,651 arrivals were recorded between January to October 2025, reaffirming the Netherlands’ position among Sri Lanka’s top 10 source markets for tourism.
