The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism has established an Emergency Coordination Unit to manage and streamline relief efforts for Sri Lankan nationals affected by the recent floods. This initiative reflects the Government’s commitment to providing timely assistance and ensuring effective communication during this critical period.
The Emergency Coordination Unit will serve as the central point for coordinating donations received from Sri Lanka Missions abroad, foreign Diplomatic Agencies in Sri Lanka, and other stakeholders. All contributions will be directed towards the best interests of the flood-affected communities, ensuring transparency and accountability in the process.
In addition to managing donations, the Unit will function as a Focal Point for Sri Lankan nationals living overseas to connect with their relatives in flood-affected areas. It will also facilitate the routing of assistance from well-wishers abroad, ensuring that international support reaches those in need promptly and efficiently.
The Emergency Coordination Unit is working in close collaboration with the President’s Office, Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Defence, and other relevant agencies to ensure a comprehensive and effective response to the disaster.

ඇතිව තිබෙන ගංවතුර හා නාය යෑම් හේතුවෙන් පීඩාවට පත්ව සිටින ශ්රී ලාංකිකයින්ගේ සහන සේවා කළමනාකරණය කිරීම සහ විධිමත් කිරීමට විදේශ කටයුතු, විදේශ රැකියා සහ සංචාරක අමාත්යාංශය හදිසි සම්බන්ධීකරණ ඒකකයක් ස්ථාපිත කර ඇත. මෙම තීරණාත්මක කාල පරිච්ඡේදය තුළ ආධාර සැපයීම සහ සන්නිවේදනය සහතික කිරීම සඳහා රජයේ කැපවීම මෙම මුලපිරීම පිළිබිඹු කරයි.
විදේශයන්හි පිහිටි ශ්රී ලංකා දූත මණ්ඩලවලින්, ශ්රී ලංකාවේ විදේශ රාජ්ය තාන්ත්රික ආයතනවලින් සහ අනෙකුත් පාර්ශ්වකරුවන්ගෙන් ලැබෙන ආධාර සම්බන්ධීකරණය කිරීම සඳහා හදිසි සම්බන්ධීකරණ ඒකකය කේන්ද්රීය ස්ථානය ලෙස ක්රියා කරනු ඇත. සියලුම ආධාර ගංවතුරෙන් පීඩාවට පත් ප්රජාවන්ගේ යහපත සඳහා යොමු කරනු ලබන අතර, ක්රියාවලියේ විනිවිදභාවය සහ වගවීම සහතික කෙරේ.
ආධාර කළමනාකරණය කිරීමට අමතරව, විදේශයන්හි ජීවත්වන ශ්රී ලාංකික ජාතිකයින්ට ආපදාවෙන් පීඩාවට පත් ප්රදේශවල සිටින ඔවුන්ගේ ඥාතීන් සමඟ සම්බන්ධ වීමටත් මෙම ඒකකය සම්බන්ධීකරණ ස්ථානයක් ලෙස ක්රියා කරනු ඇත. එමෙන්ම අවශ්යතා ඇති අයට ජාත්යන්තර සහයෝගය සහ විදේශයන්හි සිටින ආධාරකරුවන්ගේ සහාය කඩිනමින් සහ කාර්යක්ෂමව ළඟා කර දීමට ද පහසුකම් සපයනු ඇත.
ආපදාව සම්බන්ධයෙන් පුළුල් හා ඵලදායී ප්රතිචාරයක් තහවුරු කිරීමට මෙම හදිසි සම්බන්ධීකරණ ඒකකය ජනාධිපති කාර්යාලය, අගමැති කාර්යාලය, ආරක්ෂක අමාත්යාංශය සහ අනෙකුත් අදාළ ආයතන සමඟ සමීප සම්බන්ධකරණයෙන් යුතුව කටයුතු කරයි.
හදිසි සම්බන්ධීකරණ ඒකකයේ මෙහෙයුම් පිළිබඳ ගරු අමාත්ය විජිත හේරත් මහතාගේ සහ අමාත්යංශ මාධ්ය ප්රකාශක තුෂාර රොද්රිගෝ මහතාගේ හඬපට මේ සමඟ අමුණා ඇත.
