The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Hanoi, in collaboration with Lan Tours, Vietnam and Aitken Spence Travels Sri Lanka), organized a Familiarization Tour (FAM Trip) for a delegation of 20 leading Vietnamese travel agents to Sri Lanka from 14 to 20 September 2025.
The visit was part of the Embassy’s continued efforts to promote Sri Lanka as a preferred tourist destination among Vietnamese travelers and to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of tourism.
During the program, the delegation was able to experience Sri Lanka’s diverse tourism offerings, including visits to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Sigiriya and Dambulla Cave Temple, a wildlife safari, a river cruise, spiritual and wellness activities, as well as exposure to Sri Lanka’s golf courses, luxury resorts, cuisine, and handicrafts.
A business interaction session was also held at the offices of Aitken Spence Travels in Colombo on 18 September 2025,with the attendance of H.E. Ms. Trinh Thi Tam - Ambassador of Vietnam to Sri Lanka and Maldives providing a platform for the Vietnamese delegation to establish direct links with Sri Lankan tourism stakeholders and to explore opportunities for future collaboration.
The delegates highly commended Sri Lanka’s tourism potential and expressed keen interest in developing travel packages for Vietnamese visitors. This initiative is expected to pave the way for enhanced two-way tourism exchanges and people-to-people connectivity between the two countries.
