Sri Lanka is deeply concerned by the rapidly escalating situation in the Middle East and West Asia, which poses a direct threat to the civilian population.
We are saddened by the tragic loss of civilian life and condemn any attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure. Sri Lanka underscores that the protection of civilians on all sides is a fundamental obligation under international humanitarian law. We stand firm in our commitment to the sanctity of human life and upholding global peace.
The Government is closely monitoring developments, in view of the grave humanitarian crisis and the direct impact on the global economy and international trade with repercussions for all countries.
Sri Lanka reiterates the need to respect the principles and purposes of the UN Charter, which prohibits the use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state.
As a country firmly committed to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all states, Sri Lanka calls on all parties to respect these age-old principles, to exercise maximum restraint, and to return to negotiations to prevent further aggravation of this dire situation.
We urge all concerned parties to engage in meaningful dialogue and take decisive action to further de-escalate tensions, given the serious threat posed to stability, peace and security in the region and beyond.

මැදපෙරදිග සහ බටහිර ආසියාවේ ගැටුම්කාරී වාතාවරණය කඩිනමින් සමනය කිරීම සඳහා ශ්රී ලංකාව පෙනී සිටින අතර, ගෝලීය සාමයේ අවශ්යතාව පෙන්වා දෙයි.
සිවිල් ජනතාවට සෘජු තර්ජනයක් වන, මැදපෙරදිග සහ බටහිර ආසියාවේ වේගයෙන් වර්ධනය වන ගැටුම්කාරී වාතාවරණය පිළිබඳව ශ්රී ලංකාව දැඩි කනස්සල්ලට පත්ව සිටියි.
සිවිල් ජීවිත ඛේදජනක ලෙස අහිමි වීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් අපි කණගාටු වන අතර, සිවිල් වැසියන්ට සහ සිවිල් යටිතල පහසුකම්වලට එරෙහි ඕනෑම ප්රහාරයක් හෙළා දකින්නෙමු. සෑම අයුරකින්ම සිවිල් වැසියන් ආරක්ෂා කිරීම ජාත්යන්තර මානුෂීය නීතිය යටතේ මූලික වගකීමක් බව ශ්රී ලංකාව අවධාරණය කරයි. මිනිස් ජීවිතයේ පරිශුද්ධභාවය සහ ගෝලීය සාමය ආරක්ෂා කිරීම සඳහා අපගේ කැපවීම තුළ අපි ස්ථිරව සිටින්නෙමු.
බරපතල මානුෂීය අර්බුදය සැලකිල්ලට ගනිමින්, ගෝලීය ආර්ථිකයට සහ ජාත්යන්තර වෙළඳාමට සෘජුවම බලපාන තත්ත්වයන් සහ සියලු රටවලට අත්විදීමට සිදුවී ඇති එහි ප්රතිවිපාක සම්බන්ධයෙන් වන වර්ධනයන් ශ්රී ලංකා රජය සමීපව නිරීක්ෂණය කරමින් සිටියි.
ඕනෑම රාජ්යයක භෞමික අඛණ්ඩතාවයට හෝ දේශපාලන ස්වාධීනත්වයට එරෙහිව බලය යෙදවීම තහනම් කරන එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ ප්රඥප්තියේ මූලධර්ම සහ අරමුණු වලට ගරු කිරීමේ අවශ්යතාවය ශ්රී ලංකාව නැවත අවධාරණය කරයි.
සියලුම රාජ්යයන්ගේ ස්වෛරීභාවය සහ භෞමික අඛණ්ඩතාව සඳහා දැඩි ලෙස කැපවී කටයුතු කරන රාජ්යයක් ලෙස, ශ්රී ලංකාව, මෙම ඉපැරණි මූලධර්මවලට ගරු කරන ලෙසත්, උපරිම සංයමයකින් කටයුතු කරන ලෙසත්, මෙම භයානක තත්ත්වය තවදුරටත් උග්රවීම වැළැක්වීම සඳහා සාකච්ඡා සඳහා නැවත එළැඹෙන ලෙසත් සියලු පාර්ශ්වයන්ගෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටියි.
කලාපය තුළ සහ ඉන් ඔබ්බට, ස්ථාවරත්වය, සාමය සහ ආරක්ෂාවට එල්ල වන බරපතල තර්ජනය සැලකිල්ලට ගනිමින්, අර්ථවත් සංවාදයක නිරත වන ලෙසත්, ගැටුම්කාරී වාතාවරණය සමනය කිරීම සඳහා තීරණාත්මක ක්රියාමාර්ග ගන්නා ලෙසත් අපි අදාළ සියලු පාර්ශ්වයන්ගෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටින්නෙමු.
